Russell Moore, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, has accepted an invitation from Pope Francis to join him for a colloquium on marriage and the family. He defended his participation in an event, that many would say is led by a false prophet who is the head of an apostate church, he said, "I am willing to go anywhere, when asked, to bear witness to what we as evangelical Protestants believe about marriage and the gospel.” But why should Moore discuss marriage with a pope who forbids his clergy to enjoy God's blessings of marriage? Paul called this a doctrine of the devil (1 Tim. 4:1). Why does the pope say that the aim of the conference is to propose anew the beauty of the relationship between the man and the woman, and reinvigorate marriage and family life for the flourishing of human society.” If this is truly his aim, then why not begin by allowing priests to marry. Perhaps his apostate church would not attract so many homosexuals to the priesthood.

Rick Warren has also accepted an invitation from the pope to participate. I would like to ask both of them, why would you accept an invitation from a wolf in sheep's clothing, who is a professed enemy of the Gospel, and who condemns born again Christians with over 100 anathemas. Why would you discuss spiritual issues with a master deceiver who has been blinded by the devil from the light of the Gospel and who cannot discern spiritual truths. Why would you give the pope's ecumenical agenda more credibility by accepting his invitation. Do you not know that your participation will continue to help blur the  profound distinction between Christians and Catholics? It is tragic that many evangelicals do not have the courage to rebuke fellow Christians who compromise the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
