Pope Francis has rightly condemned the beheading of 21 Coptic Egyptians by ISIS militants. However, in his remarks, he stated all Christians, ‘be they Catholics, Orthodox, Copts or Lutherans’ are one faith. This is part of the Vatican’s strategy to unite all professing Christians under the papacy. However, those who have discernment know that the Catholic faith is diametrically opposed to the faith of born-again Christians who are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone according to Scripture alone (Eph. 2:8-9; 1 Cor. 15:1-4). When we survey all the professing Christians in the world, they will fall in one of three categories: 1) born again Christians, 2) false converts who have head knowledge of the Christian faith but have never repented and experienced the second birth (Mat. 7:21-23); and 3) apostate Christians who once knew and understood the faith of the apostles, but departed from that faith to follow doctrines of demons (1 Tim. 4:1-4). Roman Catholics would fall in the category of apostate Christians since their church officially and dogmatically departed from the apostollic faith at the Council of Trent in the 16th century,

The Coptic Catholic Church is in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church, however it is not to be confused with the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. The Coptic Orthodox church originated after rejecting the Council of Chalcedon in AD 451 over the nature of Christ. Both Coptic Churches emphasize the need for meritorious works and sacraments for salvation thus nullifying God’s grace, the only means by which God saves sinners (Rom. 11:6). Coptic Christians, like Roman Catholics, deny the promise of the Gospel which is never-ending, eternal life with the Savior, In fact, the majority of professing Christians do not have this assurance because they do not know and trust the all-sufficient Christ of the Gospel who saves repenting sinners completely and forever.

Satan continues to raise up false apostles, who influence false teachers to teach false gospels about false Christs for the purpose of producing false Christians with a false hope.
