it is fascinating to see the striking similarities between Jesus, the incarnate Word, and the Bible, the written Word. Both are eternal (Mat. 24:35; John 1:1), the truth (John 14:6; 17:17), the light (John 12:46; Ps. 119:05), authoritative (Mat. 28: 18; 2 Tim. 3:15), living (Rom. 6:9-10; Heb. 4:12), and perfect (Heb. 4:15; Psalm 19:7). We also see that both are spiritually nourishing (John 6:35; Mat. 4:4), and sanctifying (John 17:17-19) They both set people free (John 8:31-32, 36), open our eyes (Luke 24:31; Psalm 19:8), reveal God (Col. 1:15; John 5:39), and bring forth eternal life to those who believe (John 3:36; Acts 13:48).

Also, both Jesus and His Word come from God (John 14:24; 17:7-8), never change (Hebrews 13:8; Psalm 19:9), are righteous (1 John 2:1; Psalm 19:9), restore the soul to rest (Matthew 11:28; Psalm 19:7), are a source of joy (John 15:11; Psalm 19:8), and must be received for the second birth (John 1:12; 1 Pet. 1:23).

Both are our wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:24; Psalm 119:99), judge the thoughts of the heart (Matthew 9:4; Heb. 4:12), expose what is false (Mat. 22:29), and judge and condemn those who reject them (John 8:24; 12:48).

Let us rejoice as we worship our great God and Savior who became one of us to redeem us from the power and punishment of sin!
