I am often asked how I developed such a passion for the truth. I believe it’s because I never read
the Bible or knew the truth of God’s Word until I was 34 years old. Since I did not know the
truth, I was easily deceived by my religion and I wanted to make sure that I would never be fooled
again. This is why it so important to seek truth from the most reliable source. There are dreadful
consequences for being wrong. When I am witnessing to people lost in religion, I often tell them
that we can be wrong about a lot of things in this life and still survive, but if we are wrong about
our faith we will suffer for that mistake throughout all eternity. No mistake will ever be more
tragic than having to suffer the eternal fury of God’s wrath because of misplaced trust.

The most reliable source for truth is Christ and His Word. The Lord Jesus is the personification
of truth and His Word is truth (John 14:6; 17:3); He is also the true light that exposes the lies of
the devil (John 8:12). He sent the Counselor, who is the Spirit of truth to convict us and guide us
into all truth (John 15:26; 16:13), so that we may worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24).
Abiding in Christ’s word enables us to know the truth and be set free from the bondage of religious
deception (John 8:32). Paradoxically, the greatest obstacle for people pursuing truth is the false
notion that they already know it. This is where I was for so many years because of my religious
indoctrination. This is why I have such a passion for persuading others to abide in God’s Word so
they can know the truth that will set them free.
